While healthcare is primarily the responsibility of the province, municipal leaders can – and should – be a strong voice for the healthcare needs of our community. My commitment to healthcare began before I was elected — from speaking up for safe drinking water and fighting to save Leamington’s Obstetrics department, to pushing for an end to hallway healthcare.

Since being elected, I’ve continued to work for better healthcare in our community. I’ve lobbied for a nurse practitioner-led clinic, supported our EMS, and met with provincial leaders, including the Minister of Health.

And during COVID, when Personal Protective Equipment was in short supply, I helped coordinate PPE for frontline workers — efforts that were later recognized by our MP.

I believe that when it comes to the health and wellbeing of the people of Kingsville, we can never look the other way. We have a responsibility to stand up for what’s right and speak up when it matters.
